John Dies at the End
by David Wong
I didn’t finish this one. I stopped at page 154 out of 466. This book is like a cross between The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and some Garbage Pail Kids cards. Which sounds interesting, and it was for a while, but the gross-out jokes and meandering plot didn’t seem to be going anywhere, and I realized that I didn’t care what happened to these characters. I read some Goodreads reviews, and they confirmed that this book is probably too long and doesn’t take a turn that leads to a state of enlightenment or anything. So I’m moving on.
