Roughing It

by Mark Twain

I gave this book about 80 pages (24 of which was a biographical intro). At another time, I’m sure I would have finished it, but I just wasn’t feeling it, and I have too many things I really want to read to spend 500 pages on something I’m not interested in.

The intro was great, though. At one point, Mark Twain was only known within a certain region. He got on a boat, writing about his journey and sending off articles when the boat made port, and by the time he reached his destination, he was famous throughout the United States for that writing. On that same boat, he met the woman he would later marry. Quite a trip!
