Barry recommended this, and I really enjoyed it. It was as faithful to the Lutheran theological distinctions as I could hope for from a non-Lutheran author, and sometimes even overly sympathetic to Luther. You get a real sense of Luther as a pastor, of the complex relationships between people, of some of the cultural differences from that time, of his love for his wife and children.
