Karianne and I both listened to this book about parenting teenagers. The gist is that teenagers will eventually become adults, and any restrictions you place on them until then do eventually have to be handed over to them, one way or another. It is better to follow what the author calls “planned emancipation,” deliberately handing over freedoms and responsibilities over time, than to try to control things you can’t.
