The Art of Invisibility

by Kevin Mitnick

This was not as good as his other books in my opinion, although it did make me think about how promiscuously my data is being collected and shared. One problem with a book like this is the vastly different levels of privacy people may want. You can (as he suggests) hire a homeless person to walk into a store and buy you a burner cell phone, but I’m never going to do that. Or, you can install some privacy-related browser extensions, which seems more reasonable. Overall, I was left with the feeling that there is no longer any way to keep your personal information private on the internet, and you are largely at the mercy of Facebook, et al. to protect it for you.
